The question for those playing on PC is obvious – when will GTA 6 be available? What is known, what is rumored and what Rockstar’s previous releases foray into would suggest.

Is There a GTA 6 PC Release Date?

No, Rockstar has yet to confirm a PC release date or official system requirements, and it’s only confirmed to be available for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. Online you will find any particular PC date to be a rumour or a guess.

GTA 6 Platforms: What’s Confirmed

The official website doesn’t mention a version for PC, and the list of platforms has been limited to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Even there, there’s no workaround to cloud: Xbox’s chief strategy officer revealed that the game will “not be streaming exclusively or to PC. The only way to play at launch will be via the console of the moment.

What the Latest Reports Say

One report indicates Rockstar will release it on PC in the first quarter of 2027, but that isn’t a firm date; it’s merely a window. Ignore it as if it were a rumour until Rockstar says so.

The one positive sign is. On an earnings call, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has revealed that all Take-Two games will eventually be released on all platforms, but hasn’t ruled out PC yet.

Realistic Estimate: What History Tells Us

Based on those gaps and not a leak, we’re in the ballpark of Q1 2028 when the console will launch, according to my best guesstimate on GameSpot. Add that to the Q1 2027 rumour and the realistic time period could be between early 2027 and early 2028. You can expect an announcement from the PC months ahead of time of a release, so don’t refresh daily.

Is This a GTA 6 PC Delay?

Not officially. But there is no delay just yet, as Rockstar failed to announce that there would be a PC version. This is a staggered release, not a delay. Not to be confused with the fact that it will also be the same day that dates in the game itself will change either. Not to be confused with the fact that it will also be the same day that dates in the game itself will change either, which was originally set by Rockstar for 26th May 2026 and then moved to 19th November.

GTA 6 on Steam: Will It Be There?

Nothing is confirmed. No Steam page or PC storefront has been announced, as there isn’t a single announced PC version. It’s a safe bet, but nothing’s for certain, since Rockstar’s previous PC games have also been on Steam: GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. Don’t go by any unofficial store listings; go through the Rockstar’s official channels.

GTA 6 PC or Console: Which Should You Choose?

Play on console now if:

You don’t want to have to wait up to a year or more.

You have a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S.

You don’t want to give away spoilers during the game’s hot topic discussion period.

Wait for PC if:

  • Mods are important, frame rates are more important, and graphical options are most important.
  • You don’t want to purchase a console and only play one game.
  • You don’t have to rush to be the first to hear about the launch.

If you aren’t going to play other games on that console, then a console purchase is not worth it, as you might wait a lot less than you think for a PC or you could wait a lot longer.

What to Do Now

  • Bookmark this page. It will be updated as Rockstar announces.
  • Follow Rockstar’s official PC news Twitter and Facebook accounts.
  • Avoid purchasing a game or “key” from unofficial websites that offer a PC version of a game as it is likely a scam.
  • The release of official system requirements for GTA 6 will be the last time to consider an upgrade on a PC.

Conclusion

GTA 6 will arrive on PS5, Xbox Series X/S on November 19, and PC is not announced. Rumors have been swirling around for a Q1 of 2027, while estimates have fallen short of that but have been as high as a Q1 of 2028, and history has been a year or more. As long as Rockstar hasn’t confirmed it, the decision is easy – play on console now, or wait for a PC announcement which hasn’t been made yet.
